Nokia BH-604: Nice Cans!

Nice Cans!

Nice Cans!

Listen up my peeps, today we be chillin’ with the Nokia BH-604 Bluetooth Stereo Headset, ah-ite?

What’s that? Why yes, I am white… Nonetheless, I be living large when it comes to my headphones. Those theft-inducing white earbuds ain’t gonna do it — for me it’s over the ear or nothing. And Nokia’s massive cans don’t disappoint.

What did you think I was talking about…?

Anyway, the two large enclosures subtly and cleverly duplicate the playback functions on your A2DP device, and are joined together by a proportionally wide band. Despite the intimidating size the sum of these parts are together quite light, and thanks to the generous padding quite comfortable as well.

Pairing your stereo Bluetooth device couldn’t be easier, assuming you have one. I unfortunately spent all morning trying to enable A2DP on my N810 Internet Tablet, but to no avail. In fact, this review wouldn’t have happened at all were it not for the kind proprietor of Ming Wireless, who let me audition some Cantonese Pop from his very own Nokia 5300 XpressMusic. It sounded fantastic, with deep, rich bass and crisp, clear treble — nice and loud, too, thanks in no small part to the perfect seal around my discerning ears.

Nokia thoughtfully includes a velvety travel pouch in the box, a classy complement to a true audiophile product. If you listen to music on your mobile and it supports stereo Bluetooth, then your phone deserves these ‘phones. Props to Nokia, and props to Ming for coming to my rescue… Peace out!

I want to see you test out the Maddenphones!

  2. Hey Ed,

I would imagine that these things have some kind of automagic cut-off feature when a voice call rings through.

Oh, and if you ever catch me in pleated khakis you have permission to shoot me on sight ;)

  3. Nokia phones are the best phone investment that you could make. Year after year they have been providing quality phones for consumers. Unfortunately the new Nokia phones can cost you an arm and a leg, especially an unlocked Nokia 5300. I found a great site to find unlocked Nokia cell phones from auctions. I bought 2 Nokia 5300 cell phones for me and my wife, and we love them. Check them out at Unlocked Nokia Cell Phone Auctions. Just my 2 cents.

  4. [Sniff, sniff...] I smell comment spam — as if buddy’s name didn’t give it away ;)

    The clues?

1.The handsets regularly discussed here cost far more than the Nokia 5300, rendering that “arm and a leg” remark highly suspicious.
    2. Who says “arm and a leg” in the 21st century, anyway?!

To my loyal readers, this is the kind of crap I protect you from each and every day. The only reason I’ve allowed this one is to pull back the curtain on the MORAN-ic idea behind it — click through to the auction site and you’ll see that it’s nothing more than a skin on top of eBay.

And this helps the internet how…?

He can’t be a spammer — he’s attached a friendly photo of himself, just like those friendly strangers on MySpace who want to be my friends…

Here’s an interesting report, complete with the best image of spam I’ve ever seen…

    I’d buy a t-shirt with that picture on it…

  6. Meh. This is still my gold standard for spam:
