Just a friendly reminder that being on the idiot box is in itself no proof of either fame or genius. Witness Carla Collins and just about everyone else on tonight’s disastrous Strategic Comedy Initiative.
I saw parts of the Strategic Comedy thing, and, surprisingly, Carla Collins wasn’t the worst part of the show. Then again, that’s not raising the bar too high….
Well, don’t keep us all hanging… What was the low point for you?
The low point for me, based on the 2-3 minutes that I actually watched, was a tie between David Frost’s last bit (what does an obscure classified ad in a Brit newspaper have to do with political comedy?) and the woman with the puppet (nice idea, but get nasty –it was half-assed because she played it safe with her material).
But the biggest gaffe of the night was not asking the Devil’s Advocates to appear!
