Here’s one last photo from my LA trip. In the early ’90s — God, I’m old! — this very spot on Santa Monica’s 3rd Street Promenade was the Upfront Comedy Showcase, where yours truly cut his improv teeth with classmates and Second City alumni from Chicago and Toronto.

Speaking of Second City, I just got my free copy of The Second City Almanac of Improvisation in the mail. Why? Because my two-page blurb about “finding the funny” made it to print, and without any edits!
