This past weekend marked my niece’s 7th birthday. I’ve noticed lately that in her slow march to tween-hood she’s trying to separate herself a bit from her two younger siblings. So to give her some quality me time I got her a GameBoy Advance and an age-appropriate Dora The Explorer Game.
I was a little worried when she peeled off the wrapping and said “I don’t know how to do GameBoy”, but after a quick tutorial nobody could wrestle the thing out of her hands. Welcome to the dark side, my dear — from this day forward your parents will see you only at meals and when you need new batteries… Mwa-ha-hah!
