As I was picking up some laundry this afternoon I heard about the Air France Airbus crash-landing at Pearson Airport. I immediately rushed home and turned on the TV; seeing the burning wreckage I immediately thought “how could anyone survive that?”—but somehow, miraculously, they all did.
You’ll be reading elsewhere that the passengers managed to escape the aircraft before the flames began, but what floored me was hearing that emergency crews were at the scene between forty and fifty seconds after the plane came to a stop!
I’ll never complain about anything at Pearson again. Promise.

The Star reports that the Boston and Dallas fire depts are sending people up to study how Peel, York, and Toronto reacted to the crash. It’s reassuring to know that we have such a good team here.
